Edible Roadkill

Get your chops around this. Roadkill gummy sweets. I haven't tried them yet, but I've been assured they come in all different flavours: badger flavour, vole flavour, squirrel flavour.

Dragons Den Epitaph

I've been quite busy since the Dragon's Den appearance. Signing autographs for squirrels, doing seminars for badgers, and visiting ailing and injured hedgehogs in the A&E department. Even though I was only on for 98 seconds, I received quite a lot of attention. Not all of it from love-smitten voles. I've had a lot of people saying that they would have invested, if they were the Dragons. But ultimately, I didn't want any investment. I just wanted to honour Twitch and Grind's last wishes. To appear on the telly.

Roadkill Dragon

After my appearance on this week's Dragon's Den, I thought how about do a new Roadkill Teddy. The Roadkill Dragon. A run over baby dragon, with its fire-breathing guts coming out. See if Theo and Debra and the likes will buy that one.

Actually, the Dragons were really quite complimentary on the day. After pretending to have a sense of humour bypass, they each asked to take a teddy back with them.

I'd handwritten toe tags for each dragon. Once was run over by Theo Paphitis's Lear Jet, another by Peter Jones's Limo.

I can't stop laughing. Hilarious.

For all you drum n'bass fans out there. Never has a piece of drum n'bass music been used so well and to such effect before.

Roadkill Princess Di

I was interviewed by Jay Thomas on the eponymous show last night. (For those this side of the pond, Jay Thomas used to be in cheers.)

I thought my Roadkill Toys idea was warped, but it was nothing compared to the phone-in on the show. Hillbillies were ringing in with ideas for new Roadkill Products.

A Roadkill Princess Diana doll, Roadkill James Dean figure, Roadkill JFK figure!

I think I'll stick to cuddly toys.

Crazy Lithuanians

Here's a video of Lithuanian Free Runners. No strings or CGI was used, just good old fashioned psychotic Lithuanians.

First there was the Robin Reliant

Rabbits have been dealing with the uneven playing field created by the Robin Reliant for years now. A wheel in the middle of the car doesn't leave much room for furry roadcritters to dodge. But now there's another unfair road harzard. The electric car. Soundless engines. Stealthy approaches. And splat! another cute, furry victim.

Roadkill Hedgehog

I've always loved hedgehogs, so it is with great pride that I've been working on the latest acquisition to the Roadkill teddy family- Splodge the Hedgehog. He comes with a pink twitchy nose, and cute little paws. But that's about all that's cute about him. He also has a tyre mark right across his face, and blood and gore oozing out of his middle. But we still think he's cute.

Roadkill Recommends

This week Roadkill recommends Frank Kozik's Ho Chi Minh vinyl bust. It comes with removable straw hat and AK-47 rifle. Oh the good old Cold War days. We really miss them.

Roadkill Badgers Aren't Funny

A lot of people ask me: When are you going to do a Roadkill Badger Teddy? Well, runover badgers aren't funny. Badgers are beautiful, proud creatures, with a great literary history, from Badger in Wind and the Willows to Bobby Badger in Crickle Hollow. A squashed badger just isn't funny. A squashed vole on the other hand is a different matter.

Manolo Blahnik Roadkill Collection

My fashion sources have told me about this Autumn's must-have accessories. Roadkill Boots. Created by Manolo Blahnik, out of real roadkill, the shoes have created quite a stir in Milan and New York. Manolo Blahnik has described the shoes as challenging and wearable, with mass appeal.

Martian Roadkill 2

You can see it better in this enlarged image. I bet they had some really interesting Roadkill on Mars.

Martian Roadkill

A bit unrelated to Roadkill Teddies but... I got these images from the European Space Agency's website. Conspiracy theorists say that they show signs of ancient civilisation on Mars. If you look closely you can see patterns, things that look like buildings and roads. I wonder what Martian Roadkill looked like?

Roadkill Teddy Family Grows

The roadkill teddy family has been steadily growing since we launched in december. First there was Twitch the Raccoon. A macabre, designer plush toy. Then there was Grind the Rabbit. And pretty soon, there's going to be Splodge the Hedgehog and Smudge the Squirrel, dragging their battered, furry bodies off the production line. They are all twisted toys. Toys for those with a sense of humour.

Roadkill Teddy on Jonathan Ross

Twitch the Roadkill Teddy appeared on Jonathan Ross a few weeks ago. He was the star of the show, effortlessly upstaging Goldie Hawn.
Jonathan Ross was quite impressed, although he did think Twitch looked a bit like Pete Doherty.

Roadkill Toys Creator to appear on Dragon's Den

I took my macabre collection of runover teddies and went on Dragon's Den a couple of weeks ago. The new series will be shown towards the end of July. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.

Grind the Roadkill Teddy

There's a new Roadkill Teddy in town. His name's Grind. And he's a runover rabbit.

He was scraped off the tarmac last night. He comes in a body bag, keeping him fresh and maggot-free. And he has a toe tag giving you details of his demise.
